Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hihi - Principal

Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hihi joined Al-Noor Islamic Academy as the principal in August 2015. He graduated with honors from Wayne State University with Ph.D., Master Degree in Educational Administration and School Leadership and Masterís Degree from University of Michigan in School Social Work. He has a valid, K-12 Professional Principal License and a Professional Teaching Certificate with Arabic Endorsement. He has 35 years of successful experience in teaching and administration as a teacher, and principal at primary and secondary public and private schools in the Middle East and USA. Dr. Al-Hihi is an all life educator.

Imam. Khalid Almaghayreh: Quran & Islamic Studies Teacher

Imam Khalid joined AlNoor Islamic academy as a Quran and Islamic studies teacher in November 2011. Also, he is serving as an Imam of Majid AlNoor (Islamic Association of Northeast Pennsylvania).
He has Memorized the Quran with Three Qira'at (Hafs, Warsh and Sho3bah), and has three Ijazah from ( Dr. Waleed Meneese, Shiakh Faraj Badawee, and Shaikh Ali Sho3yb). He memorized and has an Ijazah in the Forty Hadeeth of Imam AN-Nawawee.
Imam Khalid is pursuing his Islamic Sciences Bachelor's Degree at Almaghrib Institute. At the same time he is pursuing his PhD in system science and industrial engineering at Binghamton University.

Ms. Ayda - Arabic Teacher

Asalamulaikum! My name is Ms. Ayda Alawar. I have been with ANIA since its establishment in 2010. I am the Arabic teacher for grades KG-5th. Before Al Noor Academy I have been teaching Sunday School for many years. I have also taught in Jordan. I have taken many hours of educational training to help better enhance my teaching. I look forward to teaching the children each year. Each year I see improvement in the children to help them learn and speak Arabic.

Ms.Maysoun - PreK Assistant

Ms. Maysoun is a PreK assistant and a lifeline for school. She has been working with ANIA for a few years now.

Ms. Noura Kananeh - Pre-K3 Teacher

My name is Noura Kananeh. I am the pre k 3 teacher and art teacher at Al noor Academy. I have worked with Al Noor ACademy since 2013. I hold a B.S in Accounting from Kean University in NJ. I have 2 girls and 1 boy. I enjoy reading about teaching children, drawing, sewing and spending time with my children. I believe that each child is unique and learns in a different way. My job as a teacher is to help the children discover their individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it.

Ms. Noura Alfayoumi - Pre-K4 Teacher

Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem Dear Parents and Families, My name is Ms. Noura Alfayoumi. This will be my sixth year working at Al-Noor Islamic Academy, but I have almost eight years as an Early Childhood educator. I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and also completed training as an Early Childhood Specialist. I have experience working with pre-school children. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in Islamic Studies. My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in his or her own special way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on learning and I am looking forward to another fun filled and exciting school year.

Ms. Aisha - KG Teacher

As Salaamu Alaikum, I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself and welcome you and your child to Al Noor Islamic Academy! My name is Miss Aisha and I will be teaching Kindergarten this year!

Ms. Sadia Rafeeq - 1st Teacher

Assalam u alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh., My name is Sadia Rafeeq and I am the newest member of the ANIA Team. This is my first year at ANIA & I am so excited to join this amazing team. I have worked my entire teaching & Administrative Career at Montessori Schools, Islamic School and weekend Islamic Schools in PA and Maryland. I enjoy working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through their education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world. My passions are my family, education and enjoying quality time with our loved ones. My goal is to help our students reach their fullest potential. I love what I do and I will make every effort to help your child have a positive first grade experience.

Ms. Alia - 2nd GradeTeacher

As-salam alaykum, My name is Ms. Alia. Alhumdulilah, I have been with Al Noor Islamic Academy since 2011 as a second grade teacher. I have a degree in Computer Information Systems. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in the field of Education. I also have numerous hours of training in building classroom management and improving literacy and math skills through Murphy Writing Seminars and many other sources. Alhamdulillah, at ANIA we get great opportunities to enhance our teaching skills throughout the year. Success of my students is very important to me. To accomplish this, I strive to create a classroom environment based on mutual respect and love between myself and my students. My method of challenging each student while also providing personalized attention brings out the unique individuality of each child which maximizes their potential as a student. I am excited to continue my career at ANIA as a teacher and look forward to all that students have to bring to the classroom. I am so grateful to be a part of the ANIA team. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Ms.Farhat Khalid - 3rd Grade Teacher

Assalamualaikumwrwbr, My name is Farhat Khalid. I am the math teacher at ANIA. I have a Bachelor in science. Currently, I am also pursuing my second BS from CUNY (The City University of New York). My experience in teaching aligns well with the qualification required, in particular my role as a math teacher. I also have the privilege of teaching at the college discovery program of CUNY. Moreover, while my on the job experience has afforded me a well rounded skill set, I also have a solid educational foundation and a passion for teaching. I am extremely enthusiastic about ANIA focus on individualized instruction that is contributing to improving their academic skills. I wish a lot of success for ANIA and its team members in the years to come, (aameen).

Ms. Taalibah - 4th Grade Teacher

As Salaamu Alaikum My name is Taalibah Harrell and I am the 4th grade teacher here at Al-Noor Islamic Academy. I have been working at ANIA since 2012. I have my Associates degree in Education and in the process of obtaining my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have over ten years of experience in the educational field. I have completed training in building classroom management and improving literacy and math skill through Murphy Writing Seminars. I have attended many professional development programs. It is truly a pleasure to watch our children grow and enjoy learning.
